Abstract: Indonesia is a maritime country with a vast territorial waters. The potential of
fishery resources owned both catching and cultivating activities. However, the level of
consumption of the population is relative low, the level of consumption of fish in Indonesia
has only 53,92 kg/cap/year. In relation to fish consumption in Indonesia, it is necessary to
know the factors that are thought to influence it and to obtain the best model for the level
of fish consumption.. The data in this study consists of production of fisheries capture,
production of aquaculture, and per capita expenditure in 34 provinces in Indonesia, taken
from data published by BPS in 2020. The spline nonparametric regression approach is
used because the data does not follow a certain pattern and had high flexibility. The
advanced knots used and the selection optimal knots using the (GCV) Generelized Cross
Validation method. The optimal knot point obtained for the spline nonparametric
regression model in this study uses three knot points with the minimum GCV value. The
results of this study indicate that there only two variables that have a significant influence
including production of fisheries capture and per capita expenditure. This model has a
coefficient of determination of 63,74%.
