Abstract
The palm oil commodity has an important social and economic role for Indonesia, it is noted
that the development of palm oil production in the form of crude palm oil (CPO) since 1980-
2021 in Indonesia has continued to increase by an average of 11.13% per year. Stem rot is a
major disease in oil palm plantations which has a negative economic impact on oil palm
plantations due to Ganoderma boninense attack. Various efforts and methods of control have
been widely practiced, but until now there has been no curative control method that is
considered costly effective and environmentally safe. The purpose of this study was to
determine the response of organic fungicide application to oil palm seedlings infected with
stem rot disease and to determine the best concentration for clove oil and garlic extract
applications, using the in vivo method where clove oil concentrations were 0.25%, 0.5%, 1%.
and garlic extract with concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 10% were given directly to oil palm
seedlings affected by stem rot disease due to Ganoderma boninense as much as 100 ml at the
base of the stem regularly every week. The results showed that the application of fungicides
organic clove oil and garlic extract could suppress Ganoderma boninense attacks on oil palm
seedlings as seen by the growth of oil palm seedlings which continued to grow well. It was
found that the application of organic fungicide which showed the best results for plant height,
stem diameter and number of leaves was the organic clove oil fungicide treatment with a
concentration of 1% and garlic extract with a concentration of 10%.
