Abstrak :-Abstract
Context: Crown of god (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl) leaves come from Irian Jaya
and contain antioxidants, antibacterial, antiviral and anticancer and contain compounds such
as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins.
Aims: The aim of this research was to determine how to determine the effect of the drying
method of Mahkota dewa leaf simplicia on the antioxidant activity of crown of god (Phaleria
macrocarpa) leaves.
Methods: Drying the crown of god leaf simplicia using the drying method using a
dehumidifier at a temperature of 60°C, an oven at a temperature of 40°C and sunlight for 9
hours. The antioxidant activity test of leaf extracts was carried out using UV Vis
spectrophotometry.
Result: Based on the research results, it shows that the extract of the crown of god leaves
with simplicia dried using the oven method has the highest antioxidant activity with an IC50
of 58.767 ppm. Meanwhile, crown of god leaf extract with simplicia dried in the sun and a
dehumidifier has an IC50 value of 66.858 ppm and 76.371 ppm.
Conclusions: The results of statistical analysis show that the simplicia drying method has an
effect on antioxidant activity.
