Bay leaves contain flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, terpenoids, and essential oils that can inhibit the growth of dandruff-causing fungi. One way to reduce and prevent dandruff is to use shampoo. . This study aims to determine the best formula based on the effectiveness of the bay leaf extract shampoo against C. albicans as an anti-dandruff test using the LDH test using the disc diffusion method on 3 formulas. The physical quality test of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH measurement, foam height test, and viscosity test. In this study, the concentration of bay leaf extract used for the formulation of anti-dandruff shampoo was in formula 1 (1%), formula 2 (3%), and formula 3 (5%). The results showed that all formulations of anti-dandruff shampoo preparations of bay leaf extract met the requirements for evaluating the physical quality of the preparation and formula 3 with an extract concentration of 5% was the most effective formula in inhibiting the growth of the fungus C. albicans with an LDH of 6.76 mm.
